Anyone rememberSanta's Village? I went to a presentation by the guy who played Santa Claus there for the last 20 years the park was open. He is also the historian for the park. He has written a book on the history of Santa's Village and had a presentation at the Dundee Township Historical Society today. It was GREAT!I loved going there as a kid and couldn't believe how much I remembered from the park. He also mentioned that there arethree separate groups that are working towards trying to resurrect the park as what it was originally intended to be. It didn't really become a true ride park until the mid 1970's. Originally it was more about a trip through Santa's North Pole Village, shopping and eating in themed places and spending time with the family. It would be great to see something like that again. We already have enough places like Great America.

Oh, Man!  I used to LOVE going to the Polar Dome!

When I was a teenager they had Saturday night open skate and we'd go there and hang out and meet girls.  Then when my niece and nephew got old enough, I'd take them on Sunday afternoons.  My nephew is a HUGE hockey fan so he'd pretend he was playing for the Wolves.

My parents took me once when I was little, I barely remember it.  But in junior high we got to go on these things called "reward trips" for being on the honoroll or something.  We went to the ice skating rink they had there, the indoor one, the Polar Dome, twice.  For some reason I remember that vividly!  I was 11 and 12.

I went once when Erica was about 4-5,  she loved it!   I enjoyed the theme park area, but I have never been a big fan of the amusement park section since I had a bad encounter with a roller coaster in 3rd grade.

I think re-doing the theme park would be fun!   Christmas is my favorite holiday!
