Today Vicky over at Elsing asked me to show you her response to a question about what you would look for in a paranormal investigative team. Below is her response...if you are interested in the link to the original discussion, it can be found here at IAH. http://www.iamhaunted.com/forum/posts/page_last/id_1354/ I read this blog this morning and didn't have time to answer it, so I have been thinking about it all day. When I found out my shop could be haunted after things started happening I searched the internet. I had no idea what I was looking for or what to expect. The group I got was a group that I thought I could trust. I found out I'm way to trusting of a person and they sure showed me. They have held any and all evidence from me and have not handed me any reports. They have lied to me about things. They have been nothing but plain and simple out right mean. I at that point had given up on all paranormal groups. How could I ever trust people like this again. I felt I was better off to know nothing. Then I found IAH through this group. Funny huh? (don't worry, they are no longer here) I hope they never come back. It's a shame how they do business. I then started finding people that lived in Wisconsin on IAH. I started talking to them and getting to know them before they came into my shop. Most of those groups know now what happened to me and how I and my friends were treated by this one group. I have never kept anything hidden from them. I had to learn to trust all over again. I got to know the groups through their pages and just comments going back and forth. I have had many different groups in my shop this last summer to see how it would go. I have learned to trust again. I look for a group that is serious about the investigation. A group that loves to do what they are doing. A group that will help me when I need help understanding things. I have found a few very good groups here and will be working with them a lot. I looked for a group that would be there for me and not just leave me hanging. And I will also be there for them. I needed a group that would work close to me when ever I needed them. I also am impressed that most of these groups that have come into my shop this summer are working together as a team and not even knowing each other. I myself along with the teams I have been working with feel that is a good thing to do. It helps them understand what's going on much better. I have 4 teams that have gotten to know each other though this site and are working very close with each other. I look for teams that I can trust and I can trust my teams. They are all great people. I know some people think it's crazy that I bake cookies and popcorn, supply soda and stuff like that to the groups that come into my shop. I want my investigators to know that I enjoy them as much as they enjoy doing a ghost hunt in my shop. I want them to feel at home. I want them to know that I appreciate everything they are doing for me. I don't care what these people do for jobs. I don't think that has anything to do with ghost hunting. I just want to know that they love what they are doing. Boy Kim, you opened a can of worms on this one for me. I'm happy with the investigators I have now. They are wonderful. Vicky
