I assume most of you have heard about Bachelors Grove Cemetary. I found a periodical of alot of articals that have been written about the cemetary itself. Most of them talking about vandals but there was a group of storeis in '89 talking about a hit and run murder that led to the offender being murdered at the cemetary gate. That and the rumors of mobsters dumping bodies here in the 30's and satanic cults in the past digging up some graves, but it could be alot of urban legend. http://www.bachelorsgrove.com/archive/periodicals/

Bachelor's is still open during the day, if you go in by Midlothian Road you have to park across the street in Rubio (spelling) Woods.  You definetely have to be out by dark since you have to park in the Woods and they lock the gates and will lock your car inside.  I have been there many times, I have not gotten anything there, except I did go with a fully charged camcorder  battery and it kept turning off, I would turn it on, it would run for a minute or 2 and shut off.  Oddly enough I did not have any trouble with the camera once I left the cemetery.

It is worth a trip there to visit the old cemetery, but I will warn you it is very depressing that someone from the town does not do something to preserve it.

I spent some very, very scarey moments in there as a teenager. Weird noises and shadows. The whole place was creepy. I went there with just one friend about 25 years ago. That was enough for me!!!!

This group just went to Bachelors's Grove at the beginning of this month. Their website said that they will be posting pictures soon. It will be interesting to see what they got.

I have been to the Grove about 6 times.  We never had any experiences...  But, we had to go during the day and it is right on a main road, so you always had the noise of cars.

Also, I have never made a trip were there were not at least 3-4 teens "hanging out".

But, I would be up for going again!

However.....

If we go in under the guise of wanting to help clean the cemetery and preserve it we may be able to get in there.  On the investigation last Sat we met a woman that has been there to help clean up the place. Maybe we can really go in and pick up trash and do an investigation also. I have the email of this person so I will find out if she just went in unofficailly or if she had to contact someone.

I'll let you know what I find out.

I have heard and read basically the same things as you.  But I also heard that now it's always closed and patrolled and now they don't even allow anyone in there in the daytime.  The vandalism has gotten that bad.
