I contacted the production company to see if they could give us some names and numbers to get in touch with these filmmakers. I was hoping that if they respond we could get them to our December function event and have them plug the movie and maybe show some clips. They could also take pre-orders since the sequel is due out in January - and orders for the 1st one. We'll see. Hopefully they'll get back to us! I'd like to find out what kind of evidence they might have caught as well, or anything odd happening during shoots - that kind of stuff. Hopefully they'll come to us!

Hi all!!
From the looks of it the movies this small film group made is based on the urban legends. We don't know yet if any of the film is based on actual investigative finding. Either way it will still be fun to see what they came up with. From what I understand looking at the site more that there is a sequel to the 1st film being released sometime in Jan 2006.
Yeah, I am like you, have been down Cuba Road and to the White cemetery and nothing significant has happened. Don' get me wrong though, I do believe things could be going on there but just haven't had anything happen to me...
Let us know if you can get anything more on the house situation.

I can't wait to hear if we can see those films. In my youth (let's just say around 20 years ago ) that road was one of our hang outs, before it got all built up. We never saw anything, except one time when one of my girlfriends swore she saw a house that was there one moment and gone the next. Now I read that there was such a thing. We always heard rumors of being able to see a guy hanging from a tree. And we heard of a witch's coven being out there. That I could believe. My step sister bought a house in Lake Zurich just off Old Rand Road, which the former owners held satanic rituals. It was nasty when they bought it. I'm trying to work on her to see if we can get in there. But that demonic stuff scares me. That is why I got rid of my Ouija board and Tarot cards.

Ok my boss actually came to me today and said he read a newspaper article in the Chicago Tribune this past Sunday (he thinks). It is in regards to a Palatine group that makes small movies or something. The article is about a short movie or documentary based all on Cuba Road. If anyone can find this please cut it out or make a copy. He seems to think he read there is a sequel being made to that movie and it will have more history regarding the legends or stories...
I want to get my hands on this short film or movie also if we can find it, might be interesting for all of us to take a look at.
Let me know if anyone finds anything on this.

Ah yes Cuba road.
I have worked down the road from Cuba road for 15 years....
The more I snoop around the more I think the stories are legend. I also have been to White Cemetery in the day and the night. It honestly is not holding to much interest for me... I have never had anything remotely strange happen there... But who knows? I may not have been there at the right times!
Rainbow road. Still havent found this property that everyone is so interested in...I will continue my efforts though! One day next week on lunch I will drive around and see what I can find. Just a FYI for everyone who goes out there at night. The Barrington cops have a VERY low tolerance for tresspassing. You probably will get in trouble if they catch you in the area where you shouldn't be. The speed limit is low there also and they LOVE to give tickets! So beware, I think the cops are scarier then the ghosts out there 
I am always interested in this area so if you come across anything else let me know!

Thankyou very much for that Shady!!! I had also heard that such a building exists or did exist but couldn't find anyone who had actually seen it. Yours is new info to me, so thankyou for that. The basement looked like it had several small rooms?? Hmm that could certainly support some sort of institution but you'd think it would be easier to find info on it if it existed. However, I also know the area we live in is great for hiding its secrets . .  .
I have been to White cemetery a few times but I'm still undecided on it. Also, Cuba road just has a creepy feel to it. I MAY have had an experience on there several (about three or four) years ago but I'm second guessing myself. I'm not sure if I'm crazy or not! I hate it when that happens! LOL

I have actually explored the estate "asylum" complex on Rainbow Rd about 4 years ago. I heard that the whole plot of land has since then been rebuild although I haven't seen this first hand. It would make sense though because the abandoned estate is in a very upscale neighborhood surrounded by million dollar houses. When we explored the house are we didn't see anything strange but I'll describe the area just because it was really weird to have this abandoned place in an area like that. The area has a lock gated long driveway that we had to climb over, but at the top of the long driveway on a hill was what I assume would have been the alleged insane asylum. All that was left was the basement which had steel I-beams and debris everywhere but there were the remenants of what used to be about 8 prison cell sized rooms. Across from that was a boarded up 2 story house with a 4 car garage. When we went into the house it had holes in the cealing and walls everywhere and in one of the upstairs bedrooms there was a matress laying on the floor. Outside the house was a large barn that we were unable to find a safe way to access without actually breaking in. Behind the house was a small building that looked like it was possibley a small 2 story storage shed. Behind the area of the basement ruins was an inground pool with high dive and about a foot of sludge sitting at the bottom. We didn't see anything that would seem haunted but we also didn't do any real reaserch since it was 4 years ago and we were highschool. If I can verify first hand that this location is still standing I will definatly try to get some pictures and try to do a little real investigation.

There are many many stories surrounding Cuba Road. However, it seems they have become more of an urban legend. I have heard the stories of the children running across the street and disappearing - supposedly from having died on this stretch of road. Though we would need to find some documentation to back that up. There is also the infamous White Cemetery on Cuba road that is allegedly haunted and mysterious lights have been seen. Upon investigating this at night though, it has been decided that this could merely be a trick of the eye - the fence surrounding the plot has a very glossy paint finish, and passing by cars create an orb like light that could be misconstrued as paranormal activity.
However, even though there surrounds this road more of a "legend" than a proof of any paranormal activity - a road that immediately connects to Cuba Road is Rainbow Road. This road supposedly is home to an interesting piece of land... some say it was an insane asylum at one time, others say it had connections to the mob. Whatever it is, there are many stories surrounding this large old complex. It burned down a few years back but allegedly the activity continues. Though the home itself no longer stands, there are other buildings on the property itself. It is one I'd like to get on our investigation itinerary up the road - either to debunk the mysteries surrounding it or maybe catch some paranormal activity to prove it.
In any case, there are so many books out there with the Cuba Road hauntings in them - heck just pull up a search on the internet, they'll flood you with choices. All of which seem a bit hokey, but who knows - I myself haven't had a chance to investigate, but from what I've heard there isn't much to the legends these days. It would be pretty interesting if we can come up with some documentation to back up the children story though!!

Cuba Road I think is in Barrington, IL and I have heard that while driving there at night you can see ghosts of children running across the road. My daughter went there last night, as a matter of fact...she didn't see anything ...but thought the road was very creepy.
