I was on a paranormal tour that stopped at the Prairie Rock Brewery in Elgin when I had my experience there. Everyone was standing on the balcony of the restaurant listening to the woman giving the tour. I was standing about a foot behind one of the empty tables when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. An earthbound spirit 'walked' towards me and said 'excuse me' as he moved between me and the table in order to get to the railing that overlooked the downstairs of the restaurant. He pushed me back about a foot as he made his way past and I stared at him for a minute thinking 'jeez, how rude.'That was when I realized that the people behind me were staring at me like I was crazy and the tour guide was explaining how a ghost was often seen looking down from the balcony at the people eating below. Yup, you guessed it. He pushed me out of the way to get to the spot where the tour guide was pointing. By this time the people standing behind me decided they didn't want to stand near me anymore. I thought it was hilarious!Also, my cousins wife used to work their as a hostess and on two separate occasions she had someone drop water on her head. Both times there was nobody else around.

I found that strange myself.  After my cousins wife had her first encounter with water on her head, I mentioned to her that the place was haunted.  She asked the manager about it and he told her that it is something they don't want anyone to talk about.  Then in the next breath he tells her that if anyone pinches her behind- even if he is in the area, it wasn't him.  Just say out loud to 'leave me alone' and pretend that it didn't happen so I'd guess they are trying to distance themselves from it.  Not everyone is open to the idea of eating in a haunted restaurant (Even though technically anywhere you go is 'haunted' because we all have loved ones around us at one point or another).

I've tried contacting them a while back and they didn't want anything to do with a real investigation... hmm... wonder why that would be. 

Especially when it can drum up even more business for them.  Odd...

Yup, that's the one!  It was a lot of fun, we've gone two years in a row.  They've started doing different tours for different people so they don't get bored with the same one each year.

Oooooh me and a couple other people that post on this board went on an Elgin ghost tour to there this past October!  Maybe we were on the same tour!!!  Did you take a trolley there by any chance?
