Well if I've ever had any experiences around the Bohl area in Crystal Lake, it was this one...
Working the evening shift was never fun at Kinkos because it was usually a 2 PM to 11 PM or later shift and it got stressful fast! Being basically a retail store, you always had your last minute people who just had to make copies at 10:59 PM and of course, you had to let them in!
This particular night I was working with one of my co-workers (His name was Mike as well) and it was a stressful one! Customers were being difficult, the machines kept breaking and the whole night was taking foever! Finally 11:00 PM hit and it was time to lock up and go home, just after locking the door two customers came up to the door, begging to make copies.
Now at this point it was after 11 and there was no way in hell I was letting them in, but Mike C. decided that we should let them in anyways to be nice....I was reluctent but I agreed. After letting them in they went over to the express copiers (self service) to do there thing and Mike C. told me to go relock the door so we didn't get anymore after hours customers, wanting to get out of there I went to go relock it.
I locked the door, checked it to make sure the bolt was secure and pushed it, yup it was locked! Mike watched me as I came back from the front door and waited around another 15 minutes so our two customers could finish, Mike rang them up and told them there total, when thats what it happend:
Out of no where, I watched the front door open slowly like another customer was entering the building, it stayed open for abit then closed....only problem being that there was no one there! I felt a chill run down my spine because I knew I locked the thing and when I turned over to look at Mike, he had the same expression I did: Shock and Awe.
"Did you see that????" I asked him and he nodded yes with his mouth wide open. Then one of the customers asked us what was wrong.
We didn't really answer them, we just took there money, gave them there stuff and led them to the door, When they tried to exit though, the door was locked!
Now Mike and I were ready to wet ourselves just a little bit, any doubt that I had in my mind that I didn't lock the door was gone......because it was locked now! After Mike C unlocked the door for them and led them out, we briefly talked about what happend and decided to get out of there rather quickly.
But definately a scary moment, having a locked door slowly open and close, and then be locked again is down right freaky, even if it was the only odd thing that ever happend there.
