I know, I know, it's not exactly (LOL) local but since there isn't anything new here I thought I add the details of my vacation haunt. Back in May of this year, my family went to England to visit my husband's family. As a side trip we also went to the northern most part of Scotland. At this time of the year the sun doesn't go down until around midnight and only for a short period of time. The sunlight made it difficult for my young sons to fall asleep most night in the various hotels/bed & breakfast places. I should note that both my sons and myself are intuitives in varying ways and degrees. Each night we went to a hotel we were fairly tired because of eight plus hours driving in a car. One particular hotel located in Perth, Scotland was absolutely gorgeous (the dining rooms, drawing rooms and gardens) -the rooms were very basic. The hotel was amongest the Best Western's chain but was an old manor home in the Tudor style from the Tudor period. There were additions made of some of the rooms and I suspect our room was part of the addition. This hotel had no history on any web site of being haunted and I had no expectations as it was breath takingly decorated in the dining rooms and the view of the garden outside the dining windows was amazing. After dinner we retired to our room and my husband laid down with my younger of two sons and I laid with my older of two sons. My husband and youngest fell asleep quickly but my six year old had "ants in his pants" and kept wiggling around and asking me questions about the sun and what time it was. He had fallen asleep in the car that day so he wasn't as tired as the rest of us unfortunately. . . don't you hate it when that happens? (LOL!) After a very short period of time my son told me that there was a young lady by the window curtains. I thought he saw someone outside the window as we were on the ground level but he said no but in our room actually floating off the ground. Now, I should mention that in our family we never refer to "spirits" as ghosts but only as spirits or fairies or like angels. Only positive words! My kids are not only very relaxed about seeing spirits they are very nonchalant about it. Now, I didn't see or feel anything but that doesn't mean anything. I asked him if he saw her with his actual eyes or his mind's eye and he said his mind's eye. I asked him to ask her what she wanted and he said she was interested in watching him because she was close in age to a kid. He decribed her as a teenager (a 6 year olds guess. . .). I asked him if he wanted her to stay there or leave and he said leave because she was distracting him. So I had him ask her to politely leave otherwise his Mom was going to get mad at him for not going to bed. She said goodbye to him and floated away. I thought that was interesting but I wasn't feeling great being so tired and quickly drifted off to sleep again. Anyway, every once in a while I would wake up to yell at my son to get back into bed and to stop walking around between the bed and the bathroom. Inbetween yelling I would drift back into a light sleep. A little after midnight, I saw my son walking around again near my side of the bed and I shouted at him and threatened to take his gameboy away for the next day's travel. To my surprise my son's voice came from the oppisite direction and said he was asleep. My son moved toward me and saw the shadow that I originally thought was him. It was a small shadow and my son said I scared him and that he was a boy who just wanted to look at me out of curiosity. The shadow boy backed away as my son said this and faded away. I was less nonchalant this time as I hadn't ever experienced two different paranormal experiences in one place in a short period of time. More so, I thought it was great the way my son had a "mental" connection to the shadow boy whereas I only saw him. That is what happened to us. I can only imagine that this place had a lot of paranormal activity happening on a regular basis. I was lucky enough to have witnessed some with my son.

No you are correct, there is a castle called Huntingtower.  I am not sure how the estate is linked to the castle though.  I will try to research the two and see what I can find.  The ghost that I found is most likely linked to the castle itself as I do know the location is meant to be haunted - but I had always heard a "green lady" but this finding stated a white lady.  Not much coming up on the hotel. But I will try to find the connection. I love researching it!  Can't wait to visit!!

Okay-I just clicked on the link you posted with Huntington Tower Hotel and Yes, that was our hotel and I can even see where our room was located in the picture BUT there is another Huntington Tower that is considered haunted located nearby and I don't think you can sleep there. It's more of a castle/tower than a tudor home. Correct me if I'm mistaken and I will also look for more information on the place I'm thinking about.

Actually, no, it wasn't Huntington Tower. Huntington Tower was about a mile away though and I saw the tower as we drove to our hotel. There might've been some connection between the two locations as they were both wealthy estates and close to one another. I saw the touristy signs and leaflets on Huntington Tower in the rest stop and thought it was interesting. How did you get interested in this location?

For those of you that know my fascination with Margaret Tudor... she resided in Perth, Perthshire - Scotland.  This would be the "Huntingtower", right Lisa?  I just thought it was cool you were in "my neck of the woods"... so to speak.

http://www.huntingtowerhotel.co.uk/  Is this it?  That's tudor for sure.

Found this pretty quickly online...

White Woman

Location: Perth - Huntingtower Castle
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: No one really has any idea who this phantom could be, though her appearance is said to warn against approaching bad luck, and can bring about improved health and fortune. Some reports say she is green, rather than white.

Ha... another "white woman"... wow, that's all places seem to have anymore.  Ghosts need to be more original... or at least the people making them up! LOL

That's all I found - I'm at work, so I'll see if I can find more later.

I didn't really ask "directly" but kinda sorta hedged on the subject of hauntings but the staff at the front desk didn't admitt to anything. They probably couldn't even understand my American accent (Scotland's accent is pretty heavy. . .). My husband prefers I am descreet when discussing paranormal things around my kids and I agree with his reasoning. If I talk about it a lot or if I would have asked a lot of questions it would put the paranormal into a sortof "spotlight" for my kids as if it is something unusual-special-weird-scarey (?). I'm having a hard time articulating my thoughts but mostly we don't want our kids to become reactive in a negative way so that we can keep it in perspective. Had I been alone I would have made a bigger effort in discussing it with the staff though . . .lol!

WOW!  That is way cool!   I want a vacation like that!

Did you talk to the staff afterwards to see if they have had other stories? A lot of places will not advertise the haunting but are definately aware of them and choose to keep it quiet until someone asks about it.  If you did ask questions what did you learn?
