In my area, on Sleepy Hollow Road just north of the I-90 overpass there has been for as long as I can remember an urban legend about a ghostly hitchiker. He only seems to appear to people heading South on Sleepy Hollow road and always in the same spot in front of the same driveway. Always at night. My aunt has told me that she's seen him over the years, since she used to work a 12 am to 8:30 am shift and had to go in that direction to go to work.I recently had to take my aunt to work due to car trouble and was coming back from dropping her off and was heading North on Sleepy Hollow Road. As I got closer to the overpass I 'sensed' an earthbound spirit. I went under the overpass and as I was coming up on the driveway where the phantom hitchhiker is seen, I 'saw' him leaning against one of the two white pillars that stand at the end of the driveway. He was leaning there dressed in a denim jacket and jeans looking just like the descriptions I'd heard from over the years. He wasn't paying any attention to me, just leaning there smoking a cigarette.I was shocked but at the same time couldn't help but start laughing. With all the times I'd been through the area, I'd never seen him. I honestly had to question whether or not he even existed. Then tonight, I'm not paying any particular attention, and definitely not thinking about the urban legend, and there he is, waiting for a car to come by. It was hilarious!

LOL!   If I had seen him I probably would not have recognized him  for what he was--- I had not heard of that specific hitchhicker legend!
