We are going to have our first FLYER DAY to distribute to local downtown areas around our hot spots. We are going to dispatch from the Kinko's parking lot in Crystal Lake (in the Bohl Marketplace), it's a little more central to everyone involved and we can all branch out from there. (This is the same location we will most likely be departing from for our Manteno trip on the 14th of April, head's up.) If anyone does not know where Kinko's is, it's right next to the Pier One Imports and Barnes and Noble in Crystal Lake. If you are still unsure, let me know and I can help you with directions.In any case,I am getting a big load of flyers for the group printed up (courtesy of MIKE - our friendly Kinko's worker!) and we will carpool in small groups to various locations to hand out flyers to local businesses. I would like as much group participation as possible - so please join us, even if for an hour or two if you can! We need to expose ourselves...- um, I mean, we need exposure for the group! In any case, we will go in small groups to locations of your choice.Places I would like to hit are:Crystal Lake, Cary, Fox River Grove, Barrington, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Woodstock, Harvard, McHenry, Johnsburg, Richmond, Hebron, Rockford (area), Elgin, St. Charles, Gurnee, Antioch, DeKalb, Sycamore - and just about any place we can think of in between! Give me your suggestions if you think I've missed a great location. I also plan to get our WI girls out and about in the Lake Geneva area and the surrounds so we can get our name out there as well. I know we won't get to all of these locations in this one day, but I plan oneach group taking one or two of the locations mentioned and stopping at multiple locations. This is why we need as much participation as possible. If you guys want places to investigate, this is how we find out where the locations are... so help chip in if you can!!The plan is to go to multiple locations in each city - find message boards to post our ads on (put several up if you can). At locations of business (coffee shops, bookstores, shops, hair salons, bars, etc.) ask at the "reception" area if you can leave a small stack of flyers for customers to take if they would like. Try to strike up conversations.... if they know of anything in the area that is allegedly haunted. Try to get a name if you can to interview them later if they would like for a follow-up. We need stories - or possibly even spots for investigation. Just get the interest going and hopefully we'll generate some good leads.Please let me know if you will be joining us for our flyer day...
