For those of you researching locations for our next meeting in June - I wanted to share some information that may come in handy to some of you. Chris was contacting the Crystal Lake Historical Society for her own topic - and they are opening up their archives for public use FREE on June 4. If this will be of use to you in your research - please try to make it out there. I know I will! Thanks, Chris, for that info!http://www.cl-hs.org/At the Colonel Palmer HouseJoin members of the Crystal Lake Historical Society one Sunday each month between 1:00 and 4:00 PM for a step back in time at the Colonel Palmer House. Future Summer Sundays Heritage Series dates will be June 4, July 9, and August 6.Tour the house, and learn about the heritage of our area on these informal afternoons.Costumed docents provided by the Ladies of the McHenry County Civil War Roundtable will guide you through the house. Each Sunday will feature a variety of presentations, displays and some hands-on demonstrations, revolving around a specific event or person. On Sunday, June 4th, the Society's Research/Archives room will be open to the public. Additional displays will feature Crystal Lake Dairies and vintage photographs of Downtown Crystal Lake. There is no charge for the Summer Sundays Heritage Series. I'm looking forward to seeing what your results are. That's so weird, because I knew that first paragraph, I read it in the paper.  But they did not say that second part so I had no idea.  That's awesome!  Thanks!
