hi all, sorry ive been busy for a while and just remembered this site. yea ive heard the rumores about shoe factory road, and i guess i heard of a few new ones, i guess cuba road...its near palatine if im not mistaken, and near the 58/72 intersection a girl was killed a year or so back, but that whole area is alive with activity, when my ex lived out there i was afraid to go out there at night, you could always feel a presence. im gonna have to find some time to get back into this stuff.

kathy, that vogili barn area is exactly where ive noticed the activity, ive heard of activity in the hoffman high area because i guess some woman left home and froze to death in the dugout of the baseball field, i read on a website last night reports of seeing a black horse in the parking lot of the funeral home on golf road just down the road, it seems the 58 and 72 corner is jumping with activity. i know about this because my gf used to live close by, and ive taken walks at night and i could definately feel an abnormal prescence in the area. the other place i was talking about wasnt algonquin, as i already know about all of the activity, especially in the fox river area, mostly indians. the other place i was talking about was the NIU campus in dekalb il, for some reason theres no notes on the area but ive also felt strong prescence there as well.
The funeral home is Ahlgrim's on Golf road just east of the Golf and HIggins intersection. Yes I have heard people say they have seen the horse and sometimes even a carriage. That area was still farm land when I moved out here, 44 years ago. Years ago the 58/72 intersetion was only 2 lanes and for many years it was listed as the most dangerous in IL, I am not sure how it rates today though. Another hot spot is suppose to be Harper College, there was a stables out there, sorry but I will have to get the complete story from my sister, I wouldn't want to pass on wrong information.

Hi compudude, it's good to hear your stories! I just wanted to jump in and say that I've heard a lot of stories about Shoe Factory Rd., none of them exactly consistent though. I even saw someone post a picture on a message board once that appeared to be of a hanged figure in an old abandoned barn. Interesting!

Erica, let me know when you are in the Schaumburg area, I would love to meet up with you guys. There are some stories in the Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates area. Rodenberg Road by the train tracks there was a school house that burned down and sometimes people have heard childrens cries, Shoe Factory road also has a story about a house back in the woods that was used by Satanic worshipers. Just west on Algonquin from Barrington Road but east of Dundee people have reported seeing an Indian man standing on the side of the ride wearing complete head gear. There are a few more that I have heard over the years but I have to honestly say that I have never seen or experienced anything other than seeing the old lady in the rocking chair of the front window of the teen center, Vogili Barn by Golf and Higgins Road. I saw her when I was little and didn't know other people saw her until I was teenager.

Welcome, welcome!
Thanks so much for joining the message boards! Yes, we are fascinated with our area in general and are looking for any and all stories we can for our tours as well as the book we'd like to put out eventually.
I personally have not come across any stories in Algonquin or Schaumburg for that matter, but we are planning to hit both locations when we do our flyer day in order to try to find some first hand accounts.
If you can make it to our meeting on Wednesday night, you can share some of your stories there with us - or here on the message boards any time!
I'll keep you posted if I hear anything from the area!
-------------------------------------------------------------- HAPPY HAUNTINGS!!
