Hunter's Photos Ignite New Debate Over Bigfoot's ExistenceWednesday, October 31, 2007E-MailPrintDigg This!del.icio.usAP/Rick JacobsSept. 16: An image taken with an automatic trigger in Allegheny National Forest shows a hairy animal with four legs.RIDGWAY, Pa.? A hunter out to photograph deer last month has reignited the Sasquatch debate with a photograph of a small furry animal walking on all fours.Rick Jacobs said he took this photograph with a camera using an automatic trigger in theAllegheny National Forest, about 115 miles north of Pittsburgh, hoping to capture deer. But his image has only managed to spark further debate about the existence of bigfoot.Click here to see photographs of the creature alongside photos of bear cubs."We couldn't figure out what they were," Jacobs said of the images captured on Sept. 16. "I've been hunting for years and I've never seen anything like this."He contacted the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, which pursues reports of a legendary two-legged creature that some people believe lives in parts of the U.S. andCanada."It appears to be a primate-like animal. In my opinion, it appears to be a juvenile Sasquatch," said Paul Majeta of the bigfoot group. However, thePennsylvaniaGame Commission has a more conventional opinion. Agency spokesman Jerry Feaser said conservation officers routinely trap bears to be tagged and often see animals that look like the photos.RelatedStoriesIs It Bigfoot? Hunter's Photos Ignite Debate"There is no question it is a bear with a severe case of mange," Feaser told The Bradford Era.The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Yeah,  I later went in and clicked all the various links...It most likely is a mangie bear.   I had never seen a picture of a bear with mange before, so I can see how others would be baffled as well.

Did you click on the words to see pictures of creature with bear cubs? This looks almost like it COULD be a mangy bear. We have to wonder why it would be hanging out with bears also... If it is hanging out with bear cubs I tend to think it is a mangy mother bear. Mother bear are VERY protective of young and I highly doubt she would LET anything hang around her cubs. A mother bear will not even be near other bears with her cubs unless there is a very SAFE distance between them.

Sorry, just being logical 1st. Doubt a chimp would hang out with bear cubs also...

Have a great day!!!

Chris

That definately looks like a chimp, and you are right prob. some one's pet or an escape artist from the near by zoo.

I'd wondered about that too.  It shouldn't be too difficult to check on anyone that had a chimp for a pet.

Very interesting... I thought Chimp too when I saw pic.  I wonder if someone locally had purchased an illegal pet and when it got to much to handle they set it free.   Exotics like gators, snakes and birds are most common but various monkeys can be gotton too.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of irresponsible people in this world.  My first thought is a freed pet.

That is WILD!  When I first looked at the image, the first thing that came to my mind was that it looked like a chimpanzee.  I guess a baby bigfoot could look like a chimp.  I wonder if they looked for any physical evidence in the area after they saw the photos.  Either that or they swore never to go into those woods again!

Gee, I am shocked, the government never lies to us or keeps things from us, do they?
