Spent the morning watching the travel channel and an episode of Mysterious Journeys and they visited the Eastern State Penitentiary after pretty much repeating the same thing just worded differently for the first half hour they showed an investigation by the Garden State Ghost HuntersSociety whom actually didn't seem over the top. It really wasn't too bad. here is the link to their site as well as the link to the schedule of episodes on Mysterious Journeys....there is one on Gettysburg and another on Salem.http://travel.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=26.13789.121278.33573.9http://www.gsghs.com/

Hello I am the Co-founder of GARDEN STATE GHOST HUNTERS, I am glad you enjoyed the show. We kept it real. I was not very happy with the post editing at all. The ball on the stairs was not sitting on the edge as shown. It was at the back of the step but they did not show that! We actually showed on camera that it would roll to the back of the step not off of it if like a breeze came by. Also the orbs blowing around were dust being kicked up by something moving not ghost orbs as they sort of stated. That episode is actually on youtube.com . If you search eastern state penn. you should find it. We also have some videos posted, just search garden state ghost hunters. Enjoy!!

Hey wow, that is so cool!  I love to hear people's personal stories of things that have happened to them.

Hello, this is Mindy, no I really do not have any Philly stories. Sadly when I lived in Philly I never got to Eastern State, I was too dang chicken then, now I wished i had. I did go to Fort Mifflin in Philly, an old pre Revolutionary war fort. I went during the day, never got anything on film other than an weird, ahem, orb. But I had weird feelings in some areas that something was there, a old area where I believe prisoners where kept, one area I felt watched. Could have been just me but who reallever knows. There are of weird things going on there. I had near where I lived an old Quaker buriel site on the grounds that had an old worship building, which became an karate school. There was reports of many strange things going on there, they claimed a man kept appearing in the back school room, it got to the point that nobody wanted to be in the building after a certain time. Other than that the only strange Philly thing that ever occured to me was when I was very young and I saw shadow of a lady in an old hoop shaped dress with a parasol pass by me in the hall way of my home.

Oh wow!  Then she must have a totally different perspective on the place than the rest of us!

Any Philadelphia ghost stories you think she'd be interested in sharing with us?

Mindy and I weren't aware of the history of punishment and misery at that place, prior to its becomming a typically terrifying prison, and she lived in Philadelphia most of her life. We thought the show was pretty good.

I saw that episode and thought it was pretty good also.  I'm glad someone else saw it, it was very interesting.  Thanks for the link!
