Don't forget -
This Sunday is our field trip to Manteno everyone! I only have a few people that told me they wanted to go... so unless I know you're wanting to come, we may leave without you! :-P
We are leaving at 9 to head down from Panera Bread (our normal meeting spot) in Fox River Grove. We can just meet in the parking lot. Plan to be a few minutes early so we can leave on time please. :-D
DRESS WARM!! The weather says it'll be warmer than it will be here - but not by too much. So plan for upper 20's, low low 30's. There will be sun though hopefully - so it says.
I don't know about you all, but I'm very excited - and Rob our fearless leader, we will meet up with and he will lead us out to the hospital.
We still plan to hit Bachelor's Grove on the way back. It'll be my first time there since a Richard Crowe tour in like 1997!! So I'm pretty excited, since we didn't really go in. YAY
Please let me know if you didn't tell me at the meeting, if you plan on attending this, so we know to look for you!!

The history is a lot more informative than it was when I first looked into this place a few years ago. I love the timeline in history. This place was major and for it to be almost nothing now is so weird.

Kathy - we are planning to meet in Fox River Grove around 9 am - that would put us by you about 45 minutes later. I told Rob we'd probably be to him no later than 11 in Manteno. Sound good?
At out meeting last night we discussed going back in the night when the weather gets a bit nicer. So we'll keep you posted!

Hey Kathy - sounds good. I'm gonna have my group meet in Fox River Grove so we can pool together, then we'll meet up with you guys in Hoffman. So excited!!
Let's do our first trip in the day... I know we'll want to make more trips for sure! So let's do it this way so we can see all there is to see, and next time we'll hit it up in the dark!! YAY!!!

OK kids - we're looking at February 25th right now - Rob e-mailed me back that he could do that day. So he also will be taking us to Kankakee Mental Hospital cemetery and on the way home we'll hit up Bachelor's Grove. Rob is familiar with all of it so we'll have a good guide. He's also taken lots of fun pics there. How 'bout it guys?I'm working on a time and place to meet up with Rob, but if we're going to hit all of these places - we'll probably be making it a late morning departure. Is that ok with you ? Ok guys, if you want we can meet up by Barrington Road and Higgins in Hoffman, there is a Menards and Bowling Alley just about a 1/5 of mile on HIggins east of Barrington Road. We will meet Rob in Manteno by a McDonalds. I will get the exact location just in case someone gets lost..all we need is a time to meet. It will take at least an hour to get to Manteno, it is well worth it even if the only building that is left is Morgan. Keep your fingers crossed, we usually get to see shadow people in this building! You guys sure you want to go on the 26th, (can't on the 25th it is our meeting) during the day and not wait until a Friday or Saturday night?..in the dark...no one will come...no one will hear you...in the dark...in the night...oh sorry got cared away there..!

Wait - I lied... the 25th is their meeting at SWPRG - so Rob asked to do the 26th instead (Sunday). Promise we won't be back too late kids.
We'll leave around 9 am - perhaps we can meet in Fox River Grove and carpool? We can talk about it on chat tonight. That will get us to Manteno around 11 to poke around with Rob. He'll bring us to the Kankakee mental hospital cemetery if time permits - and hit up old Bachelor's Grove before dusk (before 5 at this time of year) if all goes according to plan. So how does that sound? YAY field trip!
